Walking Toward God
Every morning when we awaken, we mentally walk in some direction. So what direction are you heading? The amazing thing is we get to choose.
How do we choose to walk toward God? Deuteronomy 8:6, states, “So you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and fearing him.” Also consider this passage in James 4:8, it tells us, “Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.”
God desires relationship with us. There are many things that contend for our time and attention. We must make a conscience decision to follow hard after God. Hebrews 10:22, states, “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
The battles are won or lost in our minds. Deuteronomy 30: 15,16, tells us Choose life and blessings instead of death and curses. Dear Brother or Sister, walk with and toward God thereby choosing Life.
Committing to One Church
Commitment seems to be extremely difficult this day and age. You encounter so many noncommittal individuals in the course of a lifetime. Some simply shy away from commitment because it comes with accountability. You stand to benefit so much when you commit to the right thing or proper church. At New Hope Community Church, you can be vulnerable or transparent. No one is perfect or have it all together. We like you are dependent upon God’s righteousness through the blood of Jesus. Consider becoming a part of New Hope. We’ll walk with you in this journey called life, challenging you while you challenge us to be the version of us God intended.
How Important is the Church
In Matthew 16:18, it states, “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”
The local church is an extension of Christ. Jesus himself is the head of it. No matter the oppositions, the church will not be overthrown, uprooted, or power diminished. The church is liken unto an embassy in a foreign country. You want a safe haven for people to come. We the people of God are his ambassadors representing Christ here in the earth rim. We compel men to come unto Christ and learn of him. The church doors must remain open and available for whosoever.
